Sylvia Soo May 8, 2010 marks a little over a year since Sylvia Soo, a 26 year old cancer survivor heard the dreaded words “You have invasive ductal carcinoma.” At a moment when she was just beginning to live, she was threatened with death. Since her diagnosis she has tried her very best to change the assumption that cancer is the disease of those over forty. She has experienced body changing surgery and life altering chemotherapy treatments - one stiletto at a time. As she looks back at 2009, she celebrates 2010 and the future and promise it holds. The Cancer Fabulous Gala is her shout out to the world that it’s possible to feel fabulous even with a cancer diagnosis, at the same time giving back to a charity that is very dear to her heart.
